Two held for bid to kidnap woman from Chanakyapuri

The woman was thrown out of a car right outside the emergency ward of AIIMS by two men on Monday evening. The duo have been identified as Sandeep Yadav (26) and Babloo Sharma (22), both residents of Faridabad. The incident came to light on Monday at around 8.55 pm when a PCR call was received informing that a lady was thrown outside from a white car near gate number 1 of AIIMS. After the team reached the spot, she was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.

‘The victim had sustained minor injuries as she was dragged in the car. Her statement has revealed that she is a mother of two and stays in a rented house in Badarpur,’ a police official said. She also informed police that one of the accused Sandeep Yadav had taken Rs 7 lakh from her on different occasion. Later, Yadav had returned Rs 4 lakh but refused to pay the remaining amount. Thereafter, he started threatening and stalking her.

On the day of the incident, she was on her way home from office in an auto rickshaw. When she reached near Leela Hotel in Chanakya Puri, she noticed that Yadav along with his friend was chasing her in a car. He tried to stop the auto rickshaw but the auto driver did not stop. When they auto reached Aurbindo Marg, near AIIMS gate, Yadav intercepted the auto rickshaw. He then came out of his car, dragged her out and forcibly tried to make her sit in the car. When the victim raised alarm, she was thrown out of the moving car.

On Tuesday, both of them were arrested and booked under the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code. ‘Vehicle used in the crime has also been recovered,’ the official added.
