Two foreigners molested yet again in city

According to the police, the incident took place between 5 to 6 p m, when the victim, who studies in a Delhi University (DU) college, had gone to check the current status of a parcel she had sent to Mongolia a few days ago.

In her complaint to the police, the victim said that while she was enquiring, the accused allegedly caught hold of her hand and tried to molest her. Frightened by the unwelcome behaviour of the accused, she fled. Later, she approached the police and filed a complaint against the accused in this regard.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer, on the condition of anonymity, said that they are in the process of registering a case against the accused. ‘The accused would be arrested and booked accordingly after we register a case. Further investigations are underway’, he said.

In a separate incident, a 45-year-old American woman alleged that a taxi driver tried to drag her inside his vehicle in south Delhi’s Defence Colony. The accused has been arrested.

The victim is an advocate and has been staying in a rented house at Defence Colony. According to police, she was acquainted with the accused, identified as 45-year-old Vikram Basoya. He lives with family in south Delhi’s Kotla Mubarakpur.

In her complaint to police, the woman alleges that Vikaram tried to molest her in his taxi and threatened to kill her if she resisted. On the basis of her complaint, a case of sexual assault and criminal intimidation under Indian Penal Code has been filed with Defence Colony. Vikram was arrested and sent to judicial custody.
