The accused has been identified as Vikas Kumar Kashyap (24), the kingpin and Rohit Kumar Saxena (27). They were arrested from Adarsh Mohalla in Maujpur in Delhi.
According to police, due to rise in the circulation of FICN, strategic action was chalked out and Special Team was tasked to bust the FICN racket and accordingly secret informers were deployed and the activities of suspect persons were kept under surveillance.
During interrogation, Kashyap disclosed that when he was in jail in an auto-lifting case in 2015, he met one Prem Chand who was arrested in an FICN case. Both of them befriended in jail.
After release, he started working in a factory but due to financial crisis and on account of heavy debt, he met Prem Chand about two months ago, who introduced him to the mastermind of this syndicate — Mohd. Zafar and Mohd. Abutala at Malda, West Bengal.
“Initially, he got FICN of Rs 20,000 only as sample and he himself circulated and used them in Delhi and NCR in the weekly markets. He got faith in this syndicate and was satisfied that he could earn huge money easily through this illegal business without any risk,” police said quoting him.
