A day after a 23-year-old woman was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by three persons in a moving car in the national Capital, the police have detained two persons. The incident came to light on Saturday when the woman lodged a case at the Sunlight Colony police station in
South-East Delhi.
The woman, in her complaint, stated that she had gone to an eatery in Nizamuddin, when the three persons approached her and asked her to come along with them in the car. When the woman refused, they forced her inside the vehicle and sped past, a police official said. She added that the accused molested and raped her inside the moving car.
“After two hours, the accused dumped the woman near a flyover in Sunlight Colony, not too far from the Delhi Police headquarters,” the official said. According to sources, the woman kept changing her statement and the sequence of events is still unclear.
“We have recorded the woman’s statement and our teams are verifying the facts. A case under the sections of kidnapping and rape has been registered at the Sunlight Colony police station,” a senior police officer said.
