Two dead, 8 injured after car rams into divider

Two women were killed while other eight occupants including the driver were critically injured after a car in which all were plying lost its balance and rammed into the divider before colliding with a streetlight in Najafgarh area on Friday morning.

The accident took place at around 10 am when they all were going to Haryana to attend a wedding. At the time of the accident, ten persons were sitting inside the Innova car. When they reached near Najafgarh area, Jai Bhagwan, who was driving the car, lost the balance and the car rammed into the divider.

According to police, the car was at a high speed due to which the car turned turtle after it rammed into the divider and further it collided with a streetlight. 

All of them were rescued by passers-by and were rushed to the nearby hospital.

Two of them, identified as Manju (wife of Jai Bhagwan) and Somvati were declared dead on admission whereas other victims were given medical treatment. 

After initial treatment, some of them were referred to other hospitals. The injured victims have been identified as Jai Bhagwan, Reena, Arti, Ashok, Ritwik, Mohit.

Further investigation is underway, police said.
