Two brothers die after their Audi A6 car hits sign board of petrol pump

Two brothers, both in their 30s were killed, while two of their relatives are said to be critical after their car collided with a sign board of an Indian Oil petrol pump and turned turtle, police said on Wednesday.
The incident was reported around 12.30 a.m. on Tuesday night from Keshav Puram area in north Delhi. All four were occupants of an Audi A6 car and were said to be under the influence of alcohol, which the medical reports also confirmed. Nikhil Bansal (36) and Vineet Bansal (35) died on the spot while their brothers-in-law Nitin and Pradeep, residents of Gurgaon and Suraj Mal Vihar respectively, suffered injuries in the incident. They have been admitted to Agrasen Hospital and Bhagwan Mahaveer hospital where their condition is said to be critical by the doctors. The victims were heading towards Azadpur in north Delhi from Dhaula Kuan in south Delhi and the car was being driven at a speed of 180 km/hr. The Bansal brothers were on the front seat of the car when the accident took place near an Indian Oil petrol pump at Britania Chowk in Keshav Puram.
‘The Audi car driven by one of the victims collided with an electricity pole. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car jumped into the air and turned turtle,’ said an official. ‘The medical report of the victims confirmed they were drunk at the time of the incident. The car was being driven at a very high speed,’ he added. Both the brothers, Nikhil and Vineet, were owners of a factory of silver and steel utensils in outer Delhi and an utensils shop which belongs to their father, Mohan Bansal, in Wazirabad. ‘The impact of collision was so high that the car jumped into air and turned turtle three times after collided with the sign pole of the petrol pump. Nitin could not be saved by the airbag as the car crushed badly. The police had to use gas cutter to take the entangled bodies out from the car,’ said a senior police official.
‘The medical report of the victims have confirmed that they were drunk at the time of the incident and the car was being driven in a very high speed. No arrests have been made and a case has been registered in Keshav Puram police station. We are waiting for the statement of the injured persons. The bodies of the deceased brothers were handed over to the respective families for the last rites,’ said N.Gnana Sambandan (DCP) North-West District. Both Nikhil and Vineet were residents of Model Town. The family was happy as just 15 days ago, Nikhil’s wife had given birth to a girl. Vineet has a one-year-old son.
