Two auto-thieves arrested, 12 motor bikes seized

Two bike-lifters were arrested from here and twelve motorcycles seized from their possession, police said.
Based on a tip-off, the two, identified as Dhanesh and Vishal, were arrested by Indirapuram Police yesterday near Vaishali Hindan river canal culvert, police said.
Upon interrogation, they confessed to have lifted several motorcycles from the NCR region, they said, adding, twelve motorcycles were seized from their possession.
Explaining their modus operandi, the police said the duo used to lift motorcycles parked negligently outside hospitals, parks, railways stations and malls.
The accused were residing in Ghaziabad as tenants under Vijay Nagar Police Station area, SHO Indirapuram Haridayal Singh Yadav said.
In order to live a lavish lifestyle, the duo used to both steal expensive bikes after identifying soft targets and later on sold them for a meager amount ranging between 5,000-10,000.
