On 10 July, a semi-decomposed body of a man was found stuffed in a trunk at a house at Tughlakabad Extension in Govindpuri. During investigation, it came to light that KK Chopra, the deceased, was a businessman and indulged in an illicit relationship with a woman because of which his wife gave him divorce recently.Â
The police team carried out the investigation on these lines and scrutinized the call details of the deceased that led to one Rajan and Rocky. On being intensively quizzed, the duo persons confessed their involvement in the act and told police that Chopra was having an affair with the girlfriend of one of the accused.
According to police, Chopra was having an affair with Rocky’s girlfriend and few days ago, he came to know about the illicit relationship. He then hatched the plan along with his friend Rajan who called Chopra at their residence for dinner. After offering him food, they tied his hands, mouth and legs with a rope and strangled him to death.
The accused further told police that finding him dead, they stuffed him inside the trunk and fled away. So far, Delhi Police have not been able to trace the girl who is alleged to be Rocky’s girlfriend. They told police that the girl, name not disclosed, is in Bareilly and a team has been sent to detain her.
It is yet to be ascertained whether the girl was also involved behind the murder or not. Meanwhile, a different theory has also emerged that points towards a probability that the accused might have murdered the girl as well but they are not confessing to the crime. ‘We are investigating in all plausible angles to solve the mystery,’ the official added.
