Two arrested for robbing Rs 1.15 cr from trader

Two persons were arrested on Thursday for allegedly robbing Rs 1.15 crore at gun point from a trader in Khari Baoli market. Police have also recovered Rs 32 lakh in cash were from their possession.
The duo was identified as Roop Singh (30) and Vinod (32). After their arrest, it emerged the robbery was carried out by a gang of four men and they had planned to use the money for betting in the upcoming IPL season, said Ravindra Yadav, joint commissioner of police (Crime). The other two accused are still at large.
The incident took place on December 9 evening at the shop of one Gaurav Rathi, a dry-fruits trader in Khari Bouli market, Asia’s largest market of dry-fruits. The case was transferred to crime branch of Delhi Police.
