Truck hits PCR van; sends it flying into field, 2 cops injured

According to the police, a case has been registered against the errant mini truck driver who managed to flee with his vehicle from the spot after the accident.The incident took place at around 5.30 am when the PCR van was going from Bakhtawarpur towards Harniki village when a speeding mini truck collided with the police vehicle leaving the two policemen identified as Dharampal (36) and Roshanpal (35) injured.
Eyewitnesses told police that the impact of the collision was such that the PCR van fell into an agricultural field. Meanwhile, due to the impact, the two policemen got locked inside the car. It was only after a few locals spotted the PCR van in a decimated condition in an agricultural field that they called in other locals to help the injured cops.
Locals informed the police after which due to the joint efforts of the Delhi Police and the locals of the area, the two were somehow taken out of the vehicle. The police then rushed the duo to a nearby hospital where they were treated for injuries and later on discharged.
Meanwhile, the truck driver somehow managed to flee from the spot after the collsion.
Police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the IPC at the Alipur police station against the errant driver. Further investigation is on.
