Truck collides with car, leaves one dead

On Wednesday night at around 12.50 pm, an accident took place on Nelson Mandela Road, Vasant Kunj between a tempo and a speeding Cruze car injuring five and killing one on the spot.

According to police, they were returning home in a tempo after selling vegetables at Vasant Vihar when the incident occurred. The driver of the car, Shivam Chawla, a resident of Vasant Kunj C- Block, is yet to be arrested as he is undergoing treatment, police said. The injured have been identified as Krishna Nand Chaudhary, Raghu, Rajesh Chaudhary, Magru, Prakash and Ghanshyam. The deceased, Ashok Chaudhary hailed from Bihar .'Ashok died due to head injuries and excessive bleeding,' the official added.

The PCR vans took the six victims to a nearby private hospital for treatment. The hospital administration did not admit the deceased, and was not willing ready to treat the injured. Out of the six injured, only three were admitted. They even charged
Rs.15, 000 each for admitting the injured.

A case of rash driving, causing death by negligence and causing hurt has been registered with Vasant Kunj north police station.
