Trinamool MLA helps CPI(M) workers to get back party office

Trinamool Congress MLA from Barrackpore in North 24-Parganas has set an example on Thursday by helping CPI(M) workers to get back their party office that was being taken over on the day of the election results.

This comes at the time when Trinamool Congress workers are being beaten up and their party offices were damaged where the CPI(M) and Congress still have a strong hold.

On Thursday morning Shilbhadra Dutta along with other Trinamool Congress leaders and workers went to Barrackpore gate number 14 where a party office of CITU was taken over by some people after CPI(M) had a defeat in the election.

The Trinamool Congress MLA had somehow managed to get the keys of the party office and handed it over to the CPI(M) leaders. The CPI(M) leaders had opened the party office and they were found re-arranging the furniture.

The leaders have expressed their gratitude towards the Trinamool Congress leaders and said that such steps will help to maintain peace in the state.

Local people have also appreciated the move of Bhadra. They claimed that there would have been violence everyday if the alliance of Congress and CPI(M) had come to power.

The situation had remained peaceful just because of the statements given by Mamata Banerjee in support of peace despite her party workers were being attacked at different parts of the state since the elections dates were declared.

Srimati Pramanik, a local resident, said such steps are eye openers. Congress, CPI(M) and BJP should stop saying now that law and order situation in the state is not good. “Instead of staging demonstrations and blocking roads they should support Banerjee in carrying out further development of the state,” she said.

It may be mentioned that Trinamool Congress MLA from Canning East Assembly seat Shaukat Mollah visited to different parts of his constituency on a van-rickshaw urging people not to get involved in any political violence. He was miking personally and asked people not to get swayed away at the instigation of any political party.

There had been reports of political clashed from South 24-Parganas. But the steps taken by Mollah made people aware and it helped to check the repetition of the incidents of political violence.
