TN cricket body moves SC for de-sealing of three stands in M A Chidambaram Stadium

Before an IPL match in Chennai’s M A Chidambaram Stadium, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association approached the Supreme Court for de-sealing of three stands in the stadium and a bench of justices B S Chauhan and Dipak Misra agreed to give an urgent hearing to the Association’s plea in view of the IPL match and posted the matter for Tuesday.

Tamil Nadu Cricket Association has challenged Chennai Corporation’s action of sealing three stands – I, J and K.

These stands were sealed on the ground that they had been constructed without prior permission from the authorities concerned.

Seeking de-sealing of three stands, TNCA submitted that the three sealed stands were part of renovation work going on in the stadium and six stands have already been allowed by the Corporation.
