Tihar official’s son shot at by unidentified assailants

A 30-year-old son of a Tihar Jail official, was allegedly shot at by unidentified persons at the residential quarters in West Delhi’s Jail Road.

The incident was reported on Wednesday when two men approached the victim Virendra’s house. When he came out to attend them, the accused allegedly fired at him and fled, police said.

The victim, who sustained one bullet injury, was immediately rushed to the hospital and is presently stated to be out of danger, they said, adding that the incident was suspected to be a case of business rivalry.

Virendra’s father is an assistant superintendent rank official at Tihar prisons.

Virendra was into the business of financing and his statement was recorded by police on Thursday, 
an official said. DCP (West) Pushpendra Kumar could not be reached for comments.
