TICSI welcomes Union Budget

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (TICSI) on Friday welcomed the Union Budget for financial year 2013-14, which was presented by Finance Minister P Chidambaram in Parliament on Thursday.  

S N Ananthasubramanian, president of The ICSI Council, said in a statement, ‘Union Budget 2013-14 is a balanced, growth-oriented and progressive Budget. It brought in investment-friendly measures and made a determined effort to regain fiscal consolidation, besides addressing the formidable challenge of bringing the economy back on the growth path despite continuing inflationary pressures and global economic turbulence.'

'The budget reiterates the Government’s commitment to inclusive growth, with more allocation to social welfare areas like health, education, nutrition, women safety, skill development. The announcement to set up India’s first Women’s Bank as a public sector bank (PSB) is a welcome move towards women empowerment,' he added.
