At least three more players and one more IPL team is under the scanner for spot-fixing in the tournament, Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar disclosed on Thursday. The commissioner said that the focus of the police was in completing the investigation into the present case as soon as possible and submit a charge sheet in 60 days.
Meanwhile, police offcials said on Thursday that Rajasthan Royals player Ajit Chandila had received an amount of Rs 12 lakh to spot-fix the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches played in 2012, police officials said on Thursday.
'Chandila received the money from one of the arrested bookies, Sunil Bhatia, to spot-fix the IPL matches played last year,' said a Delhi police officer. The revelation was made during Chandila and Bhatia’s interrogation in police custody. Police said Chandila had assured Bhatia that he would spot-fix the matches he plays. But he played few matches, and after the IPL, Bhatia started pressuring Chandila to return the money that had been paid to him.
'Chandila managed to return the money before this session of the IPL through cheques,' said an officer. The first cheque of Rs 4 lakh was given to Bhatia on 12 December, 2012, the second on 10 February, 2013 and the third just a few days later.

Delhi police arrested S Sreesanth, Chandila, Ankeet Chavan and 11 bookies in a post-midnight operation in Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad on 16 May for spot fixing in IPL matches. The players had allegedly been paid up to Rs. 60 lakh, just for giving away a pre-determined number of runs in an over. Four more bookies were arrested later in the case. Sources said besides the accused, Delhi police is also talking to ‘others’ in connection with the case. Sources said if there is credible evidence or input, other players may be detained.
Delhi Police has issued ‘look out notices’ against some persons in connection with the spot-fixing scandal besides asking the official broadcaster, Set Max, to provide unedited footage of all matches involving Rajasthan Royals. If there is credible evidence or input, sources said they may ask players to stay back.
'As of now, there is nothing to suggest that the involvement of other players,' they said. Police has also sent teams to various places in south India.
