After the Delhi government announced to hold a two-day special session on June 9-10 of the Delhi Assembly to discuss the workings of the three Municipal Corporations’ vis-à-vis sanitation, a Delhi BJP leader said: “The three MCDS will hold a joint session to highlight Aam Aadmi Party’s
unfulfilled promises and how they have been diverting attention from issues of their jurisdiction.”
The party has decided to call a special session at the Ramlila Maidan in the presence of a large gathering of people on Thursday. On the second day, all councilors of BJP will go to all 67 constituencies where AAP legislators have been elected and submit a memorandum regarding the pending and unfulfilled works of the MLAs in their concerned areas.
The three Corporations alleged that the government’s move to call an Assembly session is to divert the attention of people and a bid to pressurise the agencies and malign them.
“To counter the two-day special Assembly session called by the Delhi government over alleged failure of the three civic agencies, a special session of the three Corporations has been planned. The special session will be organised on May 9, the day when city government has called session and will take place at Ramlila Maidan.
“In the session, the MCDs will expose the government as it will reveal its failure to fulfill promises. On second day, all BJP-councillors along with local residents will meet AAP MLAs in their concerned constituencies and will hand over the memorandum,” said Mahendra Ahuja, Deputy Chairman of the EDMC.
