Three held for rape in separate incidents

Delhi Police have arrested three persons for raping girls, in separate cases, in the capital on Monday.

In the first incident, a four-year-girl was raped by her neighbour. He was identified as 15-year-old Mukesh (name changed). The incident took place in west Delhi.

'Mukesh's father works as a welder. Medical examination of the girl confirmed rape. He has been sent to the juvenile home,' said an official.

In the second incident, a boy raped a 19-year-old Class XII student, whom he had known for almost two years. The victim is from West Bengal. The accused, identified as Ambreesh (name changed), used to live near the house of the victim's sister in Mohan Garden. The victim used to visit his sister often.

'The accused came close to the victim. He then promised her of marriage and raped her. Later, he refused to get married  and broke off all contact. On 18 May, the girl lodged a complaint of cheating and rape,' said a police official.

The official added that medical examination confirmed rape and Ambreesh has been sent to juvenile home. The third incident was reported from Vasant Vihar, where a married woman was raped by her friend, who had promised her help in getting a job. He raped the woman after injecting her with a drug.

The 22-year-old woman stayed with her husband. She said she knew Durgesh, the accused, from before her marriage, as he stayed near her home in UP. After a few months, she got married and shifted to Delhi. Later, Durgesh also came for a job. When she invited him for dinner at her residence, Durgesh said he would help her get a job too.

'Durgesh called one of his friends too to rape the woman. She was raped for 10 days. Finally, the victim managed to flee, and lodged a complaint against both of them,' said a police official.

The official added that medical examination confirmed rape. Durgesh was apprehended while Deepak, another accused, is still on the run.
