Three held for hoodwinking prospective job seekers

Delhi Police busted a gang of three persons who cheated people on the pretext of sending them abroad for jobs, in Krishna Nagar area of East Delhi.
The three accused persons have been identified as Aas Mohd (35), Mohd Altaf (32) and Ayub (52). Police have recovered 75 fake visas, 5 original passports, 37 medical certificates and 4 mobile phones.
Police said on December 28, complainant Jeeshan Beg a resident of Mumbai, approached the police that since he was unemployed, one of his friends advised him to get in touch with a person named Aas Mohd in Delhi who helped people get jobs in gulf countries. Jeeshan went to Mohd’s office in East Azad Nagar in Delhi and was asked to deposit his passport and other important documents.
He was also asked to deposit Rs 6,000 cash as processing fee and was further asked to deposit Rs 30,000 in order to obtain visa. Jeeshan was told that he will get his visa after one month and thereafter deposited Rs 19,000 as advance money after which he went back to Mumbai.
“Few days later, he got an email regarding visa for Kuwait and when he verified it with the Kuwait Embassy he found that the visa was fake.
Following which he tried to contact the accused person but to no avail,” said a senior police official.
A case was registered at the Krishna Nagar police station after which teams were formed to nab the accused. After the main accused, Aas Mohd was arrested, he revealed that he along with Mohd Altaf and Ayub have cheated people and were going to cheat 75 more people by using the same method.
They shifted their locations after cheating people. Further investigation is underway.
