Three held for gang-raping 17-year-old in west Delhi

In another case of crime against women at the national capital, three persons in their early thirties have been arrested for gang-raping a 17-year-old girl in west Delhi. According to police, the incident took place on Saturday night when the girl was taking a walk alone after dinner in the Nangloi area. Three men pulled her inside a car and took her to a nearby godown that belongs to the accused.

The minor was allegedly gang raped through the night and in the early morning she was dumped at an isolated place in Nangloi. When the victim regained conscious, she went home and narrated the incident to her mother, after which her family approached the local police station and registered a complaint. The girl was sent for a medical examination that confirmed rape. The victim also identified the rapists as her neighbours.

'On the basis of the victim’s statement, the accused were identified as Anwar (30), Sandeep (32) and Aneesh (35). All  three accused were arrested on Sunday morning from their respective residences in west Delhi,' the official investigating the matter said.

Anwar is a property dealer and Sandeep is a mobile shop owner. Aneesh, is a homeguard. The victim resides with her family in a rented accommodation and is uneducated. 'During the medical test, no resistance marks were found on the victim’s body. Though we have arrested the accused, we are still investigating the case from all plausible angles,' the official added.
