Three drug-peddlers arrested, narcotics worth Rs 1.7 crore seized

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a network of drug peddlers supplying narcotic drugs in the city and arrested three persons, including a Nigerian national. Police also recovered 460 g of drugs worth Rs 1.70 crore.
The accused, identified as Omokhogie Sunny (49), Nawab (30) and Om Prakash Gupta (65), were arrested in three separate operations. According to a police official, in the first operation on April 10,Â
information was received that a Nigerian national (Sunny) — residing at Mahavir Enclave — would come to supply cocaine to someone at District Centre in West Delhi’s Janakpuri.Â
A trap was laid and he was apprehended, while possessing 55g of cocaine worth Rs 35 lakh. In the second operation, Nawab was arrested on April 12 and a consignment of 200g of fine quality heroin was recovered off him.Â
The batch is reportedly worth Rs 60 lakh. The third accused, Om Prakash, was arrested on April 16 and 260g of heroin, worth Rs 75 lakh, was seized from him. Further investigation is in progress, said the police official.
