Three die in mishaps

In two separate accidents in west Delhi, three persons, including a senior citizen, were killed and a person received critical injuries. In both accidents, victims were riding on motorcycles and unknown vehicles hit them from behind.

The incidents were reported from Mundka area. The first incident took place near petrol pump around 10.30 pm on Sunday. Amar, 24 and Ramavtar, 70, were  on a motorcycle when an unknown speeding vehicle hit them from behind.

‘Ramavtar was crushed under the vehicle and he died on the spot. The duo were rushed to nearby Sanjay Gandhi hospital. Amar has survived the injuries and is undergoing treatment,’ a police official said.

He added that on the basis of Amar’s statement, a case under appropriate sections has been registered.

In the second incident, two friends in their early twenties, identified as Kapil and Shekhar, were returning to their residences at Rajauri Garden. Mid-way, they were crushed by a speeding mini truck, yet to be identified.

The incident took place near Ghevra Morr at 11 pm. A passerby informed the local police. ‘A PCR van reached the crime spot and cops took the duo to Sanjay Gandhi hospital, where both  were pronounced dead on arrival,’ a police official investigating the matter said.

A case under appropriate sections of rash driving causing death  has been registered.
