Three children drown to death in Jaitpur

Three children in <g data-gr-id="24">Jaitpur</g> area drowned to death while taking <g data-gr-id="22">bath</g> in a canal in Madanpur Khadar Phase-III on Wednesday.

Six children, aged between 10 and 15 years who were residents of Madanpur Khadar, had gone to a canal in the afternoon at around 2.30 pm to take <g data-gr-id="23">bath</g>. 

Amongst them, three did not enter the canal while the other trio jumped into the canal in search of some adventure and fun. 

There is a pipeline in the area where the three boys drowned which is filled with muck almost all the year round. 

Pramod (15), Anju (11) and Ashish (12) entered this part of the canal and subsequently drowned and got stuck in the muck. The three others fled the spot and informed locals at around 8.30 pm. As per reports, the three other children were too scared to break the news of their friends’ drowning to anybody.

The police were informed by the locals and on reaching the area the police recovered all the three bodies from the canal bed. 

The bodies were taken to AIIMS for post-mortem and  then handed over to the families for cremation.
