Mitra, who has also been a poet, explained: “Poetry is language bound, therefore everyone may not be able to understand the meaning, but paintings have a universal appeal. A painting is only successful when one can decipher the meaning through the three-dimensional perspective of the work.”

One of his renowned works, titled ‘Colouful Journey’ is a work of acrylic on paper, which expresses a colourful and hopeful journey ahead in life. He explained that his ideas are based on realms of social & environmental consciousness.
