Those who want to leave may go: AAP

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said his party MLA from Laxmi Nagar Vinod Kumar Binny had demanded a ministerial berth before government formation and is now demanding a ticket to contest Lok Sabha polls. Kejriwal also categorically said if someone wants to leave the party, he can go.

‘Vinok Kumar Binny had come for a ministerial berth in December while we were finalising the names for cabinet. I denied him the post. Now he is demanding ticket to contest Lok Sabha polls,’ said Kejriwal. He added that the party has decided no MLA will contest Lok Sabha election.

This is the first time a senior leader of AAP has admitted that Binny was demanding ministerial berth during his meeting with senior party leaders before cabinet was finalised. Binny, who has raised a voice of rebellion for the second time, was earlier pacified by senior party leaders Yogendra Yadav and Manish Sisodia. According to sources, the party is planning to send a showcause notice to Binny.

Earlier, Binny accused Kejriwal of spreading lies and deviating from the original ideology. ‘There is a huge difference between what was said and what is being done. We will hold a press conference on this tomorrow (Thursday) so as to let people know of our displeasure.’ he added.
