Tired of the spate of bad movies at the box office recently? Here's something to wait out for. Director Shekhar Ghosh, more fondly known as Kitu in the film fraternity, is all set with his film Sooper Se Ooper which hits screens on 25 October.
The movie stars funny man Vir Das along with Deepak Dobriyal, Gulshan Grover, Kirti Kulhari and Yashpal Sharma. The music in the film has been directed by Sonu Niigam and Bickram Ghosh.
Sooper Se Ooper is a complete family entertainer. The plot revolves around Ranvir (Vir Das) whose fortune is in the dumps and selling his ancestral land in Mumbai is the only way to survive. Kukreja (Deepak Dobriyal) has also staked all his dreams on that piece of land. But the key to the land is Ranvir’s mama Madho Singh Rathore in Mandwa. Ranvir has to get mama to Mumbai within a month and Kukreja has to stop him from reaching Mumbai.
Kirti Kulhari will be portraying the role of a Rajasthani girl. She's playing the role of Gulabo, the queen of Kalbeliya. Grover plays a London-based don who returns to his home town, Rajasthan where Deepak Dobriyal and Yashpal Sharma join him as his accomplices. Interestingly, Das’ love interest in the movie - Gulabo is the don's daughter
Sonu Nigam and Bickram Ghosh have composed six songs for the film and made a very interesting and fresh album. The songs have a very strong earthy and desi feel to it mixed with the traditional sounds from Rajasthan.
The movie traces the transformation of Ranvir from a materialistic city youth to someone who understands and values family and relationships. Set to release across India week after , we won't miss it for the world - you should not either.
