The artists’ guide to the inner self

The Process of self quest is not all simplistic. To know or not, what to know what not, how to know, all the following queries are life consuming; abstract yet subjective, like a mirage.

And man's eternal search to discover the self has never perished. It has attained distinct hues over the years because the search is not an outward but an inward experience.

It is this very spirit of searching new alleys of self discovery that is explicitly visible in the show Avidya meaning ‘the true spirit of searching self’. The exhibition will be organised by S2SArtivities, an organisation working towards promoting Indian art.

The exhibition showcases works of twelve young Indian artistes from distinct parts of the country and two artistes from Taiwan and UK. Artists like Debasis Barui, Deepak Rajbhar, GirishKulkarni, M S Baoni, Narasimha M Kumbar, NidhiAgarwal, Nilanjana Nandy, Prasanta Kalita, Sajal Kaity, Sumantra Mukherjee, Tisha Mandal and Vinita Dasgupta will be displaying their work.

The exhibition will also showcase works of two distinguished artists Glenn Fitzpatrick from UK and I Hui Kuo from Taiwan.

Though the show incorporates paintings of distinct genres and style, it together forms a composite whole. This diversity in a continuum, enhances the intensity of the works displayed. The beautiful blending of diverse national and international traits and understanding makes Avidya something to watch out for.
