The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to release on 2 May

‘The release date will take advantage of the fact that most states have a public holiday May 1,’ Kercy Daruwala, managing director, Sony Pictures India, said in a statement. ‘As it is, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 releases during the opportune school and college vacation period which is ideal for our audience,’ he added. The Spider-Man franchise is said to have garnered a larger box office than any other Hollywood franchise in India. The Amazing Spider-Man had minted Rs 34 crore during its weekend opening when it released in 2012. In the first movie, the movie showcased the struggle between the ordinary obligations of actor Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.
