Mohd Zakaria, father-in-law of LeT bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda, was on Thursday remanded to four days of police custody by a Delhi court. Investigators have said that he has to be taken to West Bengal for identifying hideouts of terrorists from Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Zakaria was produced before the court after his 10-day police custody expired. The special cell said that Zakaria and the two others arrested, Mohd Basiruddin and Allauddin, had revealed that they had facilitated infiltration of Pakistani and Bangladeshi terrorists in India through the Indo-Bangladesh border on Tunda’s instructions.
‘All those terrorists were stationed at the hideouts... in West Bengal where they planned their further course of action regarding carrying out of bomb blasts in Delhi and adjoining states.
‘The accused persons, Mohd Zakaria, Allauddin and Basiruddin are to be taken to West Bengal to identify their hideouts,’ the police said in its remand plea seeking extension of Zakaria’s custody by four days.
Chief metropolitan magistrate Amit Bansal allowed the plea and extended the custody of Zakaria by four days. Tunda, Allauddin and Basiruddin are already in police custody.
