Teenager rescued from alleged molesters

A teenage girl, who was forcibly being taken to a forested area near North Delhi’s Kashmere gate and allegedly molested by a duo was rescued by a police team patrolling the area on the morning of March 25. The two accused persons in this case were arrested after a short chase, the police said on Thursday.
The accused were identified as Bhure (20) and Ali (32), both identified as vagabonds by the police.
On the morning of March 25, the girl was taking rest in a pavement near a temple on the Ring Road stretch near Kashmere Gate. The accused allegedly approached her and lured her with some biscuits. When the girl allegedly resisted to further molestation, the duo allegedly tried to take her to a nearby forested zone by force. A passerby saw that and called up the police control room (PCR), said Ranvir Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police (Operations).
The PCR team patrolling nearby rushed to the spot immediately and got hold of Bhure and Ali after a brief chase. On seeing the police, they left the girl and started running. The rescued girl was also counselled by an NGO.
Both accused have been booked under Sections 354 (molestation) and 363 (punishment for abduction) of IPC and relevant sections of POCSO Act.
