Teenager punched to death over mobile charger in W Delhi

The minor accused has been apprehended. The incident took place at around 4.30 pm on a busy street in Sainik Enclave in Mohan Garden. The victim, identified as Deepak (17) was on his way to his friend’s home who is a 7th class drop out and runs a pan shop in the area. Deepak was going to the juvenile’s residence to hand over a mobile charger owned by the accused.

In mid-way, Deepak met him and was decided to hand over the charger there. ‘The charger broke after it fell while being handed over by the victim to the accused over which they indulged in a fist fight,’ a police official close to investigation told Millennium Post.

The moment the charger fell on the ground and broke, a heated argument took place between the duo. The argument was initiated by the accused. In a short while, it turned into a scuffle and the accused punched Deepak three times on his chest. He collapsed and the accused sprinkled water on his face and called the locals. When he did not responded, police was called in and the juvenile accused was detained by the locals.

A police team reached the spot at around 4.54 pm and rushed the victim to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The accused was handed over to police and sent to juvenile home.

On Friday, according to the autopsy report of the deceased it was learnt that the impact of the punch on his chest was the cause of his death.
