TDP MLA seeks 10 days to appear before ACB

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah who was summoned by the Telangana ACB in connection with the alleged cash-for-vote case, on Friday sought more time to appear before the anti-corruption agency, citing health reasons.

In a letter addressed to ACB's ASP M Malla Reddy, Veeraiah said he has been suffering from pain in the spinal cord and right leg and is taking bed rest as advised by doctors, and hence, needs 10 days to appear before them.

"My doctors have advised me against travelling and to take bed rest for 10 days. Currently, I am undergoing treatment in a hospital. I will cooperate with you in the case. However, I am unable to appear as of now or you can come to the hospital and get information from me," said Veeraiah, who represents Sattupalli seat. The ACB had grilled Narender Reddy, who was the TDP-BJP candidate in the Telangana Legislative Council elections, on Thursday.
