TB monitoring to go mobile soon

Soon in the coming months, tuberculosis patients would be monitored with the help of a mobile health technology, which will be launched by the Health Ministry. Reports say, the mobile density in India is very high and thus the government is planing to provide their patients medical service through mobiles itself.
A government senior official informed Millennium Post, ‘Soon within three months, government would launch this technology on the monitoring of tuberculosis because as every year around 22 lakh patients are reported, and every three month there is one death due to tuberculosis.’
‘The maximum number of TB cases are found in our country. India has the highest burden of Tuberculosis in the world with over two million cases adding up to more than one-fifth of the global burden’, the official said.
Nearly 40% of the Indian population infected with the TB bacillus, this large pool of infected people means that TB will continue to be a major problem.’ Narendar Saini, general secretary of Indian Medical Association (IMC) said that the mobile health monitoring system which is going to be launched has many benefits, it will reminded patients about medicine doses that need to be taken.
