Tantrik in police net for duping, raping 32-yr-old Afghani model

A tantrik raped a 32-year-old Afghani model at her rented accommodation on the pretext of solving her problems in South-east Delhi’s Amar Colony area and was arrested on Friday. The tantrik also robbed her of Rs 10 lakh cash. Identified as Tara Chand, the police said they have been trying to trace the tantrik for the past eight days.

According to the police, the Afghani model met Chand and discussed about the obstacles she was facing in her modelling career in the city. 

On November 24, Chand then paid her a visit at her rented accommodation in the Garhi area of Amar Colony and gave her a drink which he claimed would remove all her obstacles. After giving her the drink which was laced with sedatives, he raped her.

Police also said that before raping the model, Chand fooled her into paying Rs 10 lakh cash.

According to the police, when the woman came to know that she has been raped, she asked for her money back but he threatened her of dire consequences. Chand, a native of Palwal in Haryana, has been absconding after the incident.

The woman then approached the Amar Colony police station on November 27 where she narrated the entire incident and filed a complaint. Following this, a case was registered under Section 376 (Rape) against the accused person. Police also added that after arresting the tantrik on Friday, he was presented in the local court on Saturday.
