Sunil Kumar takes over CRIS as MD

Sunil Kumar, an officer of 1976 batch of Indian Railway Traffic Service, has taken over as the new managing director of Centre for Railway Information Service(CRIS) in addition to his present post as Advisor Safety, Railway Board.
He has been instrumental in the roll out of the computerised ticketing system which has proved to be of great help to millions of passengers.
He was also awarded the Railway Ministers' medal for improving the revenues of Railway by more than Rs 1.5 crore through innovative means and also bringing in very high standards of services to the travelling public.
He has served in various capacities in his long career with the railways. His paper on IT vision 2025 for Indian Railways written in 2002 is still the guding document for all computerisation efforts on Indian Railways.
