Sunanda Pushkar case: SIT to question Tharoor today

According to sources, the SIT has drawn certain inferences following Tharoor’s movement before and after the murder. “Based on footage, call records and subsequent questioning, they have managed to piece together the details of movements of several related people, prior to the incident,” the source said.

Another officer close to the investigation said that each and every person associated with Sunanda, has been tracked down. “We looked into the movements of Shashi Tharoor too, both prior and post the incident. We have called him in for questioning on Thursday to seek further insight on a few aspects pertaining to the case. Moreover, certain questions bordering on the IPL angle will also be posed before him,” the officer added. “The statements from witnesses, who have been examined so far are being analysed; also, a few more are left to be scrutinised. Tharoor will be quizzed again because we need clarifications on certain glitches related to the matter,” the Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi, said on Wednesday.

On asked if Tharoor’s domestic help Narayan Singh will be subjected to further questioning, Bassi said, “We need to obtain certain clarifications from witnesses, who were at home or were present at the hotel during the scene.”

“Fresh details have emerged from the detailed analysis of statements, but we will be able to reach a conclusion only after the investigation is over,” he added.

The special investigation team has also quizzed Pushkar’s son Shiv Menon, regarding the same. He was questioned by the SIT on February 5.

Meanwhile, Delhi High Court on Wednesday, rejected a PIL seeking its intervention in the ongoing probe into the death of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar, saying it was more of a “publicity interest litigation.”
