Apart from the obvious skin tan, the severe heat wave causes dryness, irritation and damage to your skin. It is therefore important to give constant attention to your skin.
While the market is filled with a plethora of skin care products, not much seems to be effective. A much cheaper and effective way is to follow home-remedies that use simple ingredients from your kitchen to give you long-lasting results and a healthy glowing skin.
Tan removal
Mix a teaspoon each of lemon and cucumber juice in rose water. Apply the mixture on your face regularly. Lemon juice, rich in vitamin C acts as a bleaching agent, while the rose water and cucumber leave your skin feeling refreshed.
One can also use tomato juice and aloe vera extract and mix it with a paste of an equal amount of masoor dal. This works as an excellent tan removal agent and cools the skin instantly. Follow this method regularly to achieve a healthy looking skin.
Skin exfoliation
Oatmeal works as a perfect exfoliating agent. Mixed with other ingredients like honey and rose water, it helps to remove dirt particles. Dirt particles clogs our skin pores which do not allow our skin to breathe and sweat in the summer.
Another way is to add sugar grains to honey and lemon extract. This natural mixture will not only help in exfoliation, but also leave one with a glowing skin. Delhi summer and pollution calls for skin exfoliation at least once or twice a week.
It removes dead cells and reduces acne leaving a clear and bright skin.
Hair care
Eggs work as a great hair conditioner fighting dirt and pollution. Simply apply egg yolk or the egg white on hair and leave it for about 20 minutes. Rinse it with water. Apply shampoo and wash.
Besides, drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated. Always apply sunscreen before going out on the sun to protect the skin from the harmful UV rays.
