Submit School Service Commission online applications by Aug 1

The aspirants of school service commission (SSC) will have to submit their online application
by August 1. The process will be completed by 5 pm of the first day of August for this year’s applicants.

A notification issued by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission on Friday said that the applicants will get the time limit till August 1. However, the fees for the entrance examination will be taken till August 9, as the notification further said.

“It will be a huge help for us. Some of the students could not give the fees in time, but now they would have some extra days to collect the money,” said a SSC aspirant.

However, earlier the state government had postponed the last date of filling online application from March 15 to further ahead. However, there were some problems in conducting the examination, so many students were worried.

“We are studying hard to fulfill our dream. But we were also worried about whether the examination would happen or not. We are now feeling much relieved,” the aspirant added. However, there is a serious dearth of teachers in some schools.

It is to be remembered that the state government have recently come up with a decision of employing retired teachers to fulfill the vacancies of the school. But the education minister has earlier said that it would a “stop-gap measure” to fill up a large number of vacant posts at primary and secondary schools in the state.

The schools which are having shortage of the teaching staff would be filled up by those retired teachers. However, the state government is looking into the issue of appointing teachers with “extreme urgency”, the education department source added.
