Students sit on hunger-strike outside DU VC’s office

Some students of Bhim Rao Ambedkar College have been sitting on hunger-strike outside the office of Vice Chancellor of Delhi University from 27 August, 2014. They alleged that eight students of Applied Psychology were ‘intentionally’ failed by Professor Anita Shrivastav. They also demanded that these students be promoted to second year at the earliest.

According to the students, ‘In October 2013, senior teacher DK Pandey was sitting on hunger-strike in the college over some issue and these students went to see him. When Prof Anita got to know about it, she failed these students as she was supporting the then principal of the college, RB Solanki.’

The students also added that they have submitted their complaint to various departments of the college as well as the university but in vain. They have threatened to continue their strike until their demands are met.

‘It is requested to promote failed students from 1st year to 2nd year and an independent enquiry commission should be set up to look into the entire matter,’ said one of the agitating student.
