Students, parents calling CBSE helpline show positivity in dealing with exam stress

Reporting on the trends of the queries asked by parents and students on the CBSE helpline number that deals with exam-related questions, the CBSE officials have said that there has been a positive change in the attitude of students and parents in dealing with board examinations and exam-related stress.

The officials said that moving away from fear, insecurities and anxieties, the students and parents this time are more positive and are asking for solutions of how to deal with examination stress in an optimistic manner.

Rama Sharma who is in charge of the helpline number (1800118004) says: “To talk of depression among students would be wrong. Yes the students have complained of lack of concentration, anxiety and in worse situations a complete black out, however, in our observation students today can cope with the depression and we have rarely encountered such situations where professional guidance for the students was given by our counsellors.” There is also been a positive trend being seen among parents as noted by the counsellors who mentioned that even the parents rather than showing nervousness have been asking for solutions in a positive way like; how many breaks the student should take, how must a chapter be prepared, what is the ideal diet for the students to take and how much sleep must the students take.

Rama Sharma pointed that the maximum queries is mostly sought in the month of February and now
as the examinations have started, the traffic gradually decreases.
One of the counsellors highlighted that often in pressure-ridden situations, students face a black out and their main responsibility then is to reassure and bring that self confidence back in the mind of the students.
