Students’ interpretation of Incredible India

JP International School, Greater Noida, passionately celebrated Mélange, 2016 its 11th annual day recently. With ‘Incredible India’ chosen as the theme of the day, students from nursery to senior secondary wing showcased the rich culture and tradition of the country through various dances and cultural programmes.
With Amar Singh, MP as the chief guest and the event was also presided over by Dr Shayama Chona, renowned educationist and Padma Bhushan and Padam Shree awardee and former Principal DPS, RK Puram. The other distinguished guests who were present at the event were Pradeep Agarwal, industrialist and philanthropist and promoter of Sparsh group, Roshan Agarwal, Chairman of JP International School, Lt General (Retd) J Sikand, member of the think-tank of JPIS, and Manisha Lamba Bollywood actor, as a special invitee.
The School Principal, Heema Sharma, welcomed and facilitated the guests and showcased the achievements of the school listing out the several new initiatives the school has taken to achieve greater heights. JPIS also has unveiled its new icon and website: www.jpinternational.co.in which is more comprehensive and interactive. JPIS has introduced its mobile app SCHOOFI which is an interface between parents, teachers and students.
After lamp lighting the event began with Ganesh Stuti followed by a mesmerizing performance by the little wonders of nursery who transported the audience in their world of cartoon characters. They effortlessly performed to the evergreen musical songs of 70s.
‘Utsav’, a dance drama, showcased the essence of classical dance by the students and presented dance forms such as Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Odyssey, which were truly appreciated by the audience.
The ramp show was an eye-opener for the charmed audience as it showcased 30 odd social evils like child labor, pollution etc in such a manner that everyone present out there got involved the with the message and was left with teary eyes and a promise to contribute wholeheartedly for the cause. The mood was completely upbeat immediately after that as the students gave an eclectic performance and presented the dance of India which was beautifully merged with world’s best dance forms like Salsa, Jazz and contemporary.
‘Hold your breath’, the crescendo, as best amongst all, was served towards the end as the music band of JPIS gave a rocking, high decimal performance and played ‘Jai ho’, and forced everyone out there to be a part of this incredible lot of students dancing.
Amar Singh, the chief guest, inaugurated the celebrations and lauded the efforts of students and staff members for excelling in academics and co-curricular activities and asked students to absorb knowledge as much as they can from the wonderful educators and prepared themselves for the future. Amar Singh also honored the staff members who had spent more than 10 years with JP International School and presented a trophy to the Karate team who won the first prize in the national championship recently concluded in Mathura.
Dr Shayama Chona said, “It's a matter of great pride, honor, and pleasure to be associated with JP International school. It’s motto, wisdom, courage and integrity speak volumes of the kind of education we are providing to the future citizens of our country.”
Dr Chona also instituted the annual Shayama Chona Trophy for excellent performance of the year to Driti 4th standard a student.
