Stop political prosecution: Vijay Jolly

Jolly alleged that this is a political vendetta unleashed against him at the behest of a senior union Congress minister from Delhi. ‘It is a sinister design and conspiracy to keep me away from Delhi BJP election campaign,’ Jolly said.

Jolly was interrogated at the Saket Police station for over six hours on Friday. He was summoned again on Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) directed Jolly to appear before it on Saturday at 11 am. The BJP leaderhas agreed to appear before NCW on Monday.

Jolly has already tendered a unqualified apology on the matter. He has also clarified that his protest was against Tehelka and its editor-in-chief and not against a women journalist.

Jolly had on Thursday led a protest outside Shoma Chaudhury’s house and vandalised the exterior of the building. Chaudhury had resigned as managing editor of Tehelka only hours earlier.
