Stock Guru scam: Police conduct raids, recover assets worth Rs 20 cr

Investigations into the stock guru scam wherein the Delhi police’s economic offences wing had arrested a couple, Ulhas Prabhakar Khaire, 33, and Raksha J, 30, earlier this month, have revealed that the duo was involved in a multi crore and multi-victim scam of over Rs 500 crores and involved more than 2 lakh victims.
According to the police, the accused persons have been involved in several other cases of cheating, forgery and fraud registered in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim and Maharashtra. The follow-up raids were conducted by the Delhi Police teams in Mumbai and Ratnagiri. ‘Bank drafts of over Rs.19 crore and a property in Maharashtra were detected during the on-going probe into the Rs 500 crore fraud by investment company Stock Guru India’, said a police official. ‘We have also seized 60 high-value watches which could be used for video recording, gold jewelleries worth 15 lakh , toy pistols, 7 cars and 2 bikes , I – pads, laptops, external hard disks and some spy equipments from their possession,’ said Joint Commissioner of Police (Economic Offences Wing) Sandeep Goel.
Some of the other items that were recovered from the couple’s possession included 18 PAN cards, 6 Fixed Deposit accounts, currency counting machine, printing machine, passports, debit, ATM and credit cards of various banks, cheque books and mobile phones.
