The Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung on Monday issued instructions to the Commissioner of Police (CP), Chief Secretary (GNCTD) and Municipal Commissioners of all Municipalities of Delhi to take strictest of action against those indulging in defacement of public property.
He asked them to ensure strict compliance of the law and initiate strict action against offenders.
Jung had also issued a public appeal to this effect on 22-23 November, 2014 in which he had urged the citizens to actively participate in the ‘Clean India Campaign’, launched by the Prime Minister and to step up their efforts towards achieving the goal of a ‘Clean India’. He had particularly urged the citizens to refrain from defacing public property and to prevent others from doing so too.
