Stand by every word I said about RSS: Rahul

“I will never stop fighting the hateful and divisive agenda of the RSS. I stand by every single word, I said,” Gandhi scion tweeted. Along with the tweet he shared a clip of his ‘controversial’ speech
given during a public rally on March 6, 2014, wherein he had said: “RSS ke logon ne Gandhiji ko mara, RSS ke logon ne Gandhiji ko goli mara...Usi ke log (BJP) aaj Gandhiji ki baat Karte hain (RSS guys killed Gandhiji, RSS guys killed Gandhi by spraying bullets...today their people (BJP) talk about Gandhiji).”

Congress Vice-President cleared the air after twitterati erupted on Wednesday after the news went viral claiming that Gandhi has softened his stand before the Supreme Court. Dismissing the claims of a U-turn, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh also tweeted: “No U-turn by Rahul Gandhi on RSS. He stands by what he said. Person who killed was from RSS”.

Congress spokesperson Kapil Sibal, who is representing Gandhi in the Apex Court, too on Wednesday while addressing the media said false information was being spread by certain people. “The twitterati which belongs to a particular mindset is going amok and we just want to state the facts and let the matter rest. We stand by this view point that Gandhi spoke about in his speech that people who followed the RSS ideology killed Mahatma Gandhi. There is no question of retraction,” Sibal added.

At a rally in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, during 2014 Lok Sabha election campaign, Gandhi said that “RSS people killed Gandhiji.”
