Spreading awareness on World Kidney Day

To create awareness on kidney disease among the public, the department of Nephrology of the PGIMER, Dr R M L Hospital and AIIMS has organised a conference on the occasion of World Kidney Day 2015, at the auditorium of the institution.
On this occasion, Director General of Health Service Jagdish Prasad (chief guest ) lit the lamp along with the other dignitaries, including Dr B D Athani, Special Director General of Health Service; S C Tiwari, Director Nephrology, Fortis Hospital; professor Gadpayle, Director and Medical Superintendent of PGIMER, Dr R M L Hospital; Dr D Bhowmik, professor of Nephrology, AIIMS; organising chairperson, Dr Himansu Sekhar Mahapatra, associate professor, Nephrology and HOD, Nephrology, PGIMER, Dr R M L Hospital; Organising Secretary of WKD 2015 along with Harvinder, coordinator, Continuing Nursing Education Cell (CNE) PGIMER, Dr R M L Hospital.
The chief guest addressed the gathering, highlighting the rising prevalence of kidney diseases due to Diabetes and Hypertension. There were 800 participants comprising CGHS doctors, nurses, school students and general public.
