Etash shines vs Astana Arlans in World Series of Boxing

Rohtak: On a historic night for Indian boxing when World Series of Boxing made it return to the country, it was the 18-year-old Muhammed Etash Khan who stole the show for Boxing Federation of India (BFI) backed Indian Tigers who went down 2-3 after a brave fight to three-time champion Astana Aralans.
Etash, the boy who hails from a family of farmer, shone brightly in front of the home crowd as he rendered his opponent Nursultan Kochshegulov reeling in the squared ring. The winner of the youth national last year, he proved his worth yet again as he clobbered his opponent and split his right temple up.
The Army Institute trainee showed that he belonged to the pro circuit as he peppered his weight to India's only unanimous victory of the night.
WSB which is AIBA's initiative a giving the pro boxer a chance to compete at the Olympic, has now opened up a huge platform for Etash as well as the other boxer in Indian to go the distance to take a shot at sealing berth at the mega Continental event through the professional way.
The Manipuri pugilist boxer got off to a fiery start clobbering his opponent with his powerful punches from the word go. He used his counter-attacking methods to the hilt to leave Arlans' Nursultan Kochshegulov running for covers. In the second round, the Kazakh trying to tie up the Indian lowered his guard and Etash responded with a ferocious right jab to bust his opponent up on the right temple.
Nursultan showed great character to continue the fight despite blood oozing down his face but Etash intelligently slipped his punches and attacked his opponent to emerge victorious.
With India down 1-3 before the final bout of the contest, it was the local lad Sanjeet Kumar who narrowed the scoreline in India's favour. In the clash of heavyweights, Sanjeet rolled-out his A-Game against the much-fancied Abilkhair Turlanbekov to win the last bout of the evening 2:1.
