East Bengal rope in Dovale, release Al Amna
Kolkata: East Bengal on Monday announced the signing of Spanish attacking midfielder Antonio Rodriguez Dovale for the current 2018-19 I-League football season.
Dovale replaces midfield mainstay Mahmoud Al Amna who, the statement said, was released by the club on mutually agreed terms after the Syrian battled fitness issues.
Dovale, popularly known as Toni Dovale, will be on loan to East Bengal from current club Nea Salaminas Famagusta FC, which is among the top clubs in the Cyprus First Tier League.
Toni also has the experience of playing in the Indian Super League (ISL) for heavyweights Bengaluru FC last season.
Dovale comes with a vast professional experience having played in La Liga outfits like Rayo Vallecano, CD Leganes, CD Lugo, Celta de Vigo, Kansas, SD Huesca, Celta U-19 and FC Barcelona U-18.
East Bengal snapped a three-game losing streak in their last game, getting past Gokulam Kerala FC 3-1 here.
The red and golds are currently placed sixth in the points table from the same number of games having nine points in their kitty.
