Sports facilities neglected: Jaitley

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley has alleged that sports facilities built with massive public spendings for Commonwealth Games 2010 are lying in a neglected state and have been allowed to rust and delapidate. 

‘Several sporting facilities were built during the CWG as well as the last two Asian Games here. Nehru Stadium which was built for the 1982 Asian Games underwent a Rs 970-crore renovation in the run up to the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Despite that, today, it has been allowed to rust owing to disuse,’ said Jaitley. The BJP leader was addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for first physical education centre of North DMC.
