Special Cell nabs man for multiple crimes

Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a criminal from Nangloi on late Monday who was wanted in four cases of murder, two cases of attempted murder and multiple cases of extortion and car-jacking.

The accused has been identified as Pradeep Solanki. Despite tracking his movements by the team of Special Cell for the last five months and conducting a series of raids and while also laying several traps but he could not be caught earlier.

Pradeep Solanki, a sharp-shooter, extortionist and an active member of Manjeet Mahaal gang, had completed his graduation from Delhi University in 2007. His criminal association started in 2008, when he shot a person using illegal arms in Najafgarh. He became an important part of the Najafgarh Gang War by becoming an accomplice to Manjeet Mahaal and Ravinder Bholu. His rival gangs included Naveen Khati and Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu-Jyoti. He was also wanted in various cases of Extortion and Arms Act. In pursuance of his extortion activities, he had threatened various property dealers of Uttam Nagar. In another incident in January 2016, the accused along with Pradeep Tota demanded Rs1 crore from another property dealer of Uttam Nagar.

He was also wanted in various cases of car-jacking in the area of Dwarka. In February 2015, he robbed a Verna from Dwarka North. In March 2015, he robbed one Swift from Dwarka Sector 23. In October 2015, he robbed one Tata Safari from Dwarka Sector 23. In March 2016, he robbed one XUV from Gurgaon.
